Juliana Matz was born and raised in the California Bay Area, and moved to New Orleans in 2019 to work at The First 72+ through Avodah, the Jewish Service Corps. Juliana studied Sociology and Psychology as an undergraduate, and is passionate about imagining a world beyond incarceration and engaging the broader community in conversations and critical thinking about our criminal justice system. Juliana is very excited to continue to working with and learning from the inspiring First 72+ staff.
